Celebrate Change! You Can Make a BIG difference to Your Success Just By Embracing Uncertainty

How many times have you heard that change is good and yet you still don’t quite believe it? Many would actually prefer to stay exactly where they are in life thank you very much, but we all know that what they are doing is choosing their ‘comfort zone’.

It’s funny how their comfort zone can be very uncomfortable and like those I mentioned earlier, they too have an opportunity of a lifetime.

Change happens. It’s as certain as death and taxes so the opportunity is to start to embrace it so that you can be among those who benefit greatly from it. First we need to look at why some of us don’t want change and the answer is simple, fear.

They fear the unknown; they prefer certainty over uncertainty and expend enormous amounts of energy not moving. The trouble is that life is all about moving forward, growing and stretching your abilities and influence as far as possible in your lifetime. Uncertainty (change) is one of the basic human needs, we crave it as much as we crave love because underneath it all we understand the rewards are always great. No matter how scary it appears choose to face change rather than fear it, because the alternative is to live a small life.

It’s funny how their comfort zone can be very uncomfortable.

The other side of the coin is those of us who not only embrace change, we actually go all out to make change happen in our lives and that is what I want to discuss right now.

Ghandi said (and he was right!) ‘Be the change you wish to see in the world’. We all have the ability to make extraordinary changes in our lives and the lives of others. Want to change the world? Then start by making changes to your world first.

Ask yourself:

  1. What changes do I want to see in my life?
  2. What is the first change I am going to make?
  3. What changes can I help others make?
  4. What will these changes give me?

Even the smallest change can make the biggest impact. A tweak here, a slight alteration there can be the difference between a happy and fulfilling life or a frustrating and stressed out one. Be warned though, making changes makes things happen, be prepared and welcome whatever materialises knowing it’s all good.

Finally, don’t wait for others to make the changes for you. Be empowered, take the drivers seat in your life and tell me what changes you want to make in the comments section below. Enjoy the ride!
